Arvi is a very tasty dish. Sadly, it requires a lot of oil while cooking.

With the air drying, we can reduce the oil. In this recipe, we have used just a tea spoon of oil. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do 🙂

Grind the Masala

Cumin Seeds

1 tea spoon

Dry red chilli

Fennel Seeds

1 tea spoon

Coriander Seeds

2 tea spoons

  1. Roast all the above in a pan for around 30 seconds. Make sure you don’t burn them
  2. Grind them using a Mortar and pestle

In case, you already have above in powder, no need to grind them into a powder.

Colocasia root

250 gms

Peeled and long thick sliced. (Like finger chips)

Do not use the leaves (in case you’re growing your own)

if you notice itching in your hands, rub a little mustard oil on your hands

1 tea spoon

1 tea spoon

Red chilli powder

1 tea spoon

Prepare the Arvi masala

  1. In a bowl, add all the long cut arvi
  2. Add 1 tea spoon oil
  3. Add all the masala
  4. Add salt and red chilli powder
  5. Using your fingers mix well.

Air fry the Arvi

  1. Preheat the air fryer.
  2. Grease the air fryer (optional)
  3. Spread the arbi evenly in the basket
  4. Set for 180 °C for 15 minutes
  5. While air frying, do ensure you toss around 5 minutes.

Server hot with Roti or as a side dish.
